詹姆斯·霍普伍德·金斯(James Hopwood Jeans，1877年9月11日～1946年9月16日)，英国数学家、物理学家。

人物生平

学于剑桥三一学院，曾获多所大学的名誉学位。1905-1912年先后任普林斯顿大学和剑桥大学的应用数学教授。1907年被选为英国皇家学会会员，后任秘书。1925-1927年任皇家天文学会会长。1946年9月16日卒于英格兰的萨里。

主要成就

詹姆斯·霍普伍德·金斯在气体动力学、辐射理论、天体演化学等领域都有重要贡献。他从理论上证明了“金斯不稳定性”。他的科普著作也流传很广。
