NEIL SEDAKA（尼尔·萨达卡），美国著名流行歌手、钢琴家和词曲作者，主要作品有《Rock with Sedaka》、《Circulate》等。

基本内容

尼尔·萨达卡(Neil Sedaka)，又译“尼尔·西达卡”、“尼尔·沙达卡”，是美国著名流行歌手、钢琴家和词曲作者。 在华语地区最为人熟悉的是他1959年演唱的"Oh! Carol"、1960年演唱的"Calendar Girl"，以及1961年演唱的"Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen"。

Neil Sedaka幼年曾受过8年古典钢琴的训练，毕业于纽约著名的茱丽亚音乐学院，拥有非凡的作曲才华。Neil在高中时曾组过一个团体"Tokeus"也就是后来以"The Lion Sleeps Tonight"走红的"Tokeus"。

1958年Neil与他长期合作的作曲家Howard Greenfild写了两首歌"Stupid Cupid"及"Folling"，其作曲的才华被RCA赏识，立刻拉入旗下，而"Stupid Cupid"及"Folling"也成为1958年Connie Francis的畅销曲。同年11月，Neil才19岁，即开始了他的歌星生涯，第一首推出了"The Diary"仅有小轰动，1959年的"Oh,Carol"使Neil挤入超级巨星的行列，而1962年的"Breaking Up is Hard To Do"才是Neil最受欢迎的畅销歌曲，之后Neil沉寂了一段时期，直到1974年以一首"Lauglter in The Rain"复出后，才拾回往日的雄风，75年的"The Immigrant"、"Bad Blood"均是佳曲。
